3 Star Hotel in La Spezia near Cinque Terre

The 3 star Hotel Firenze and Continentale is located at Via Paleocapa 7 in the historical city centre of La Spezia, which sits at the foot of the Cinque Terre National Park just less than ten minutes by train to the nearest of the famed five towns that give the region its name. Just a few moments on foot from La Spezia Centrale train station, our luxury hotel is in the heart of this small city that overlooks the Gulf of Poets.

The beautiful and historical city of La Spezia (literally The Spice) sits in a valley on the Ligurian Riviera of north west Italy in a rugged valley that borders the Cinque Terre national park. This charming and distinctive town has a vibrant atmosphere, a strong sense of identity and a wealth of sights and attractions, all within walking distance.

Less than a mile from the water, upon reaching the docks of the Gulf of Poets the panorama of the valley opens up along with the cliffs of Le Cinque Terre further up the coast. One of the most pleasurable and time-efficient modes of transport on this rugged stretch of coastline is by ferry, with Lerici and Portovenere to the south and more ports dotted right up the Cinque Terre coastline.

By Air

The nearest international airport to La Spezia is Pisa’s Galileo Galilei, 84 km to the south, though that’s only marginally more convenient than Cristoforo Colombo Airport in Genoa, 113 km to the north. If travelling directly to La Spezia trains can be caught without reservation and are relatively inexpensive by European standards. Those arriving on late flights however should make other arrangements such as car hire. Contact us prior to your arrival for assistance. We recommend you use an international car hire firm.

By Sea

Another way to travel up or down the coast is by ferry and we offer an extremely competitive shuttle service to and from both Lerici and Portovenere.

By Road

If driving either from north or south simply follow the A12 motorway, which runs the length of the west coast, and follow signs for La Spezia.
